Thus, I consider myself to be quite an aficionado. The protagonist is weak but I think she was realistically written. Te takes care of her needs, protects her and befriends her.
It Takes Two to Tangle. Over and over and over again.
I liked this book, even though, despite the abduction and pirating and all, I found myself skimming quite a bit, when I got tired of the flowery descriptions and just wanted to see what happened next.
It’s one of those books dependent on so many things: I was pretty indifferent about Devon, actually. And it’s not to say I don’t enjoy some londno, hokey romances nowadays in between all my preferred angsty, dark reads.
So please I was wavering between 4 and 5 stars on this one, and went with the higher rating. It always seemed so funny to me, because the moments she attempts, well they aren’t successful and not planned out at ALL!!
There is zero grovelling and Merry pretty much forgives and marries Devon on the spot no seriously, there’s a priest and everything and they literally marry an instant later. Before Merry in Apollonian splendor stood a man who was capable of vivisecting her soul, with creativity, and putting it tne to fry like a Punjabi locust.
