An fundamdntals or computer programmer who needs to solve problems in this field will immediately discover that this title serves to fill a large void in the academic literature on non-relativistic astrodynamics.
There is an improved and expanded discussion of coordinate systems, orbit determination, and differential correction. Andrea marked it as to-read Feb 22, Amazon Renewed Refurbished vallavo with a warranty. There is a couple of noticeable equation typos and some numerical errors in a few of the many examples the programmer will quickly discover these.
All too frequently in derivations, a formula is referenced that is ahead in the text, or in a future chapter.
What sets this book apart is that nearly all of the theoretical mathematics is followed by discussions of practical applications implemented in tested Keplers Equation and Keplers Problem.

Vallado’s book is just such a compendium, integrating two-body dynamics with extensive perturbation methods and real-world applications while consolidating recent literature about coordinates and fundamental concepts.
Extended to pages, including a new chapter on interplanetary missions, there are ground illumination calculations, Moon rise and set data, and a listing of relevant Internet sites.
